December Featured Caregiver


Edward caregiver of the month

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of December… Jill!

Jill has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for two years. She’s originally from Hollywood but currently resides in Hendersonville. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending her time hiking, playing board games, spending time with her two cats, Fletcher and Callie, cooking, and being with friends.

When asked what her favorite part of being a caregiver is, Jill said “…the feeling I get from making seniors lives happier and making them feel special.” Her advice for new caregivers is “…do this job because it’s giving back to society by giving these special seniors the assistance they need.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Jill said “….it’s making someone feel good… that makes my day.” Her favorite memory while caregiving is when she’d take her home-bound client to thrift stores in a transit chair, she was thrilled every time.

Jill’s favorite food is Japanese, her favorite types of music are Country and Classical, and her favorite movie is The Sound of Music. A fun fact about her is that she simply loves animals!

We’re so thankful for the kind and compassionate members of our team just like Jill. We can confidently take care of all our clients because we know they’re in great hands like that of Jill’s! Keep up the great work.

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of November… Deborah!

Deborah has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for 10 months. She’s originally from Alamonte Springs, Florida but currently resides in Hendersonville, SC with her family. Outside of work she loves to spend her time with her four children and four pets, she also loves spending time with her grandchildren. 

Deborah said her favorite part about being a caregiver is “…helping people.” Her advice for other caregivers is to “…be kind and considerate your clients.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Deborah said “…that I get to make a difference in someone’s life.” Her favorite memory with a client was “…one time when I got to help a client move closer to her family.” 

Deborah’s favorite food is rice and beans, her favorite type of music is anything considered “easy listening” and her favorite movie is The Sound of Music. A fun fact about Deborah is that she loves to travel. 

We’re so thankful for the kind and compassionate caregivers that comprise our staff just like Deborah, they’re the glue that holds the company together. Keep up the great work Deborah! 

October Featured Caregiver

Meet our Featured Caregiver for the month of October… Sheena!

Sheena has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for six months. She’s originally from Hendersonville and still resides in the area with her family. She has three children, a fiancé, and a big family scattered all over Hendersonville.

When we asked Sheena what her favorite part about being a caregiver was, she said “…I would have to say always being able to make my client smile and let them know they have someone that cares.” Her advice for other caregivers is to “…always be patient because some can do more than others.” When asked what caregiving means to her, she said “…Caregiving means joys. Meaning that making that person happy shows them that you care and that you will do your best to make them as happy as can be, that you’ll show them some TLC.” Her favorite memory with a client was when “…I took my client to the doctor, and we went and had lunch afterwards. And as we were sitting there chatting away…laughing…. not paying any attention to anything except ourselves… this nice gentleman approached our table and started talking to us. He was very nice and then he left. We got up to leave and get to the counter to find out that that same gentleman took care of our bill. He left me a little note saying we need more people in this world like you! It was so sweet.”

Outside of caregiving, Sheena also runs a cleaning business, and when she’s not caregiving or cleaning, she enjoys spending time with her family at home. Her favorite type of food is seafood but in particular, crab legs… her favorite type of music is R&B, and her favorite movie is Love & Basketball. A fun fact about Sheena is that she loves to aggravate her kids!

We’re so thankful for the love and compassion that Sheena and all of our other caregivers pour into their clients. They are so incredibly special, and we are so thankful to have them be apart of our team! Keep up the great work Sheena!

Edward caregiver of the month

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of September…Shasta!

Shasta has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for six months and is originally from Brevard, but currently resides in Pisgah Forest. Shasta is a single mom to five children and loves spending her time outside of work having fun with them or simply enjoying a good book. Her favorite types of food are Italian and Mexican, her favorite types of music are Country and R&B, and her favorite movie is The Lion King. A fun fact about Shasta is that she has 14 tattoos and 4 piercings.

When asked what her favorite part about being a caregiver is, she said “…I love being around the elderly. I love to sit and talk to them about their life, and I get to hear great stories from them. It has always been a passion of mine to take care of the elderly because at one point in time they were taking care of things and now it’s their turn to be taken care of.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…treat them how you want to be treated. And if your heart isn’t in it for them, then caregiving might not be the best career for you. It takes someone very special to be a great caregiver.” When asked what caregiving means to her, she said “…caregiving means to me that you have made a small impact on someone’s life. Whether it is helping with activities of daily living or just sitting and having a conversation with someone.” Her favorite memory with a client is “…when I started with a new client, she grabbed my hand and rubbed my face and looked at her husband and said ‘she is pretty and I want to keep her, she reminds me of my niece.’ Her husband said ‘well, we’ll keep her for as long as you can behave for her.’”

We’re so thankful for the compassionate and kind caregivers apart of our staff like Shasta, they are the reason we can so confidently take such great care of our clients. Keep up the great work Shasta!

August Featured Caregiver


Edward caregiver of the month

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of August…Joanne!

Joanne has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for 8 months and she’s originally from Ormond Beach, FL but currently resides in Hendersonville. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her two cats, as well as exercising, doing yoga, traveling, cooking, and reading.

Her favorite part of being a caregiver is simply getting to help her clients.  Her advice for other caregivers is to “…give your clients your undivided attention, show them that you care.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Joanne said “…showing compassion, and helping others have less stressful days.” Her favorite memory with a client is one time she got to take them to an estate sale.

A fun fact about Joanne is that she’s a world traveler, she loves seafood, her favorite type of music is the 80’s, and she loves the movie The Heat. We’re so thankful for kind and compassionate caregivers like Joanne, keep up the great work!

June Featured Caregiver


Edward caregiver of the month

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of June…Joy!

Joy has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for five months but has been taking care of seniors for over 22 years. She’s originally from Gerton, but currently resides in Flat Rock with her family. She has two children and three grandchildren. Outside of work, she likes to spend her time with friends, listening to music, and dancing.

Her favorite part about being a caregiver is “…sharing stories with clients and hearing their life stories.” Her advice for other caregiver’s is “…remember that we work for the client in their home.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Joy said “…helping enrich the days of the clients.” Her favorite kinds of memories with clients are “…discovering some of their history and family connections while surfing the web.”

Joy’s favorite food is pizza, her favorite type of music is anything from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s (she even recently saw Paul McCartney) and her favorite movie is A Muppets Christmas Carol. A fun fact about her is that when she was growing up, her parents owned a gas station, so her summer job was always pumping gas.

We’re so thankful for the wonderful caregivers that we have like Joy, they’re the heart and soul of our company!

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of April, Hollie!

Hollie is originally from Honeoye, New York but currently resides in Brevard, North Carolina with her family. Hollie has one son, and a Boston Terrier who she says “…thinks it is a spoiled child.” Outside of work, Hollie likes to do any type of crafting as well as gardening. She also loves to knit!

Her favorite part about being a caregiver is “…interacting with the clients and getting to know them.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…get enough sleep before your shifts.” When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…making a difference in someone’s life.” Her favorite memory with a client is when they learn crossword puzzles together.

Kind and loving caregivers like Hollie are what make our company so special. We’re so thankful to have members of our team as dedicated and as special as Hollie!

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of February, Christi!

Christi has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for almost one year and has been such an asset to our team ever since! She’s originally from Transylvania County but currently resides in Brevard. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her two sons!

When asked what her favorite part of being a caregiver is, Christi said “…Meeting new people and being able to help someone in need.” Her advice to other caregivers is “…I love this line of work because you get one on one time with clients. I try my hardest to be the best caregiver I can be and treat them with dignity and respect. I was always taught to treat people how you want to be treated.” When asked what caregiving means to her, she said “…It makes me happy to be able to help when needed while at the same time trying to allow clients their independence.” Some of her favorite memories with clients involve watching cooking shows and playing bingo.

Christi’s favorite food is steak, her favorite music is Christian, her favorite movie is Father of the Bride 2, and a random fun fact about her is that she loves to sing! Christi is a ray of sunshine to all of her clients and is a joy to have as an employee. Keep up the great work Christi!

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of January, Tasha!

Tasha has been with the Sunny Days Carolinas family for four months and has already made such an enormous impact on her clients and fellow caregivers. Tasha is originally from Rutherfordton and still currently resides there with her family. She loves spending her free time with her children and pets and she also enjoys cleaning and cooking.

Tasha’s favorite part about being a caregiver is simply getting to love on the client. She believes that interacting with your client and putting their safety first is the most important role of a caregiver. Her favorite memories with clients are when she’s able to make them laugh. Her favorite food is spinach, favorite type of music is Country, and her favorite movie is Home Alone. One of Tasha’s most admirable qualities is that she’s reliable.

We’re so thankful for Tasha and the major impact that she is having on our company. She is a great example of the wonderful types of caregivers you can expect to find at Sunny Days Carolinas .
